This week, I accomplished:
I accomplished closing an amazing show that had many ups and downs (good ups and downs), and have come back from break relatively rested and ready to finish some other projects that have fallen to the wayside. I also accomplished taking a very long walk to clear my head. As you can see, I'm trying to go for the small things here, but I'm ready to move forward in a positive light.
The sources I consulted this week were:
Me, myself, and I, and that Nellie Cornish in my head who seems to enjoy conversing with me on a Puget Sound beach. Yes, thats where I have my Nellie conversations.
By next week, I want to have accomplished:
Pulling together some foundation I feel good about to move on to work shopping my senior project.
What obstacles stand in the way of your progress?
Feeling lost, second guessing myself, doubting my work.
What steps can I take to move forward?
Baby steps. Pushing forward. Doing the best I can in the moment I am in.
In this week's seminar, I want to discuss:
It would be great to see where people are, and what to expect for final presentations.
When you feel lost, it's always good to pull out the map (or a GPS, if you have one). Take a breath. Get some perspective. Talk to a reliable source. Figure out which direction you're headed. Identify one tangible thing you can do to move ahead. Sometimes, doing just one modest task associated with your project is just the thing you need to do in order to get moving again. Remember that you are the one who sets the standards, sets the pace, and sets the priorities. Trust that you've got good ideas. Know that you're surrounded by people who are eager to help you realize your project to the highest degree of success.
ReplyDeleteHello Stacy, I came across your blog while doing some research on Elena Miramova for a biography I am working on of Vladimir Rosing. Rosing gave a summer long Master Class in Acting and Singing at the Cornish School back in 1924 or 1925. There he met the young Elena Miramova and they developed a life long friendship that included a substantial element of romance. They continued to associate with each other in New York and in California for 40 years. I had the very good fortune to visit Elena Miramova at her home in Malibu in the mid-1970s and interview her. There are several tantalizing statements she made that I would love to research further. If there are any documents at the Cornish School relating to Vladimir Rosing's stay there I would be most interested. I would be particularly interested to know if there is any record of who attended his class. Elena made a comment about Vladimir fathering a set of "twins" in Seattle. Would you be interested in trying to help me run this intriguing rumor down? Best regards, Richard Rosing (email -- richard@rosing.us)
